We call back during business hours. Your number is only used for this job.

We wrap and drape Christmas lights on trees, hedges, cedars and shrubs across New Westminster, from Queen's Park heritage lots to Queensborough townhouses. We use clips only, run outdoor-rated cords to a timer, and take everything down in January. You can book the yard alone, with no yearly plan, and use your own lights if they work.

  • Trees, hedges, cedars and shrubs lit as a single job, with no yearly plan.
  • Clips only, so heritage trim and branches are never nailed or stapled.
  • Your own outdoor-rated lights are fine if they work. We supply them if not.
  • Older houses often have few outdoor plugs, so we plan the cord run first.
  • Removal happens in January and can be booked on its own.

What yard lighting involves on a New Westminster lot

Most of the work is a front tree, a hedge or a row of cedars. Bare trunks and limbs look best wrapped closely. Evergreens and cedars look better with strands draped through the branches from the top down. Hedges get nets so they don't look patchy when lit.

Everything runs on outdoor-rated cord to a timer, so the yard switches on and off without you. Most yards take an hour or two on top of the house lights. Large trees take longer.

This suits you if you are done with the ladder, or if you have bins of lights in the garage and no wish to wrestle them through a tree again. We hang yours if they work. If a strand has died, or you would rather not dig the bins out, we supply lights.

Steep streets, heritage trim and old wiring

New Westminster has some of the oldest housing in the region. In Queen's Park and Sapperton, Victorian and Edwardian houses sit on steep, narrow lots. Porches and detailed trim should never be nailed or stapled, so we use clips only.

The hill makes ladder access tight on many streets. How high we can go on a tree depends on where a ladder can stand safely and what is under it. Send a photo and we will tell you what is possible.

Older houses often have few outdoor plugs. Before you book, we tell you how the cords would run, so you aren't left with cords across the lawn and walkway. Dry fall days suit the steep lots around the hill best. If roof work is booked with the yard and the roof is slick or windy, we move the roof and keep the yard on track.

How booking and pricing work

You hire us for one job. Install, repair and removal can each be booked alone, even on lights someone else hung. A dead strand buried in the middle of a tree is a repair call, not a reason to redo the yard.

Price depends on a few things.

  • how many trees, hedges and shrubs you want lit
  • how tall the trees are and how a ladder can reach them
  • how far the cords run to a plug
  • whether you supply the lights or we do

A photo of the yard lets us say more before you book. Removal happens in January. Lights come off the branches loosely, which matters because lights left wrapped on a growing limb all year are what cause damage.

We also work with stratas, low-rise condos and storefronts. In Queensborough, many townhouses are under strata rules, so check what your council allows before we start.

Around New Westminster

  • Queen's Park has large heritage houses with porches and trim that shouldn't be nailed or stapled.
  • The hill means steep lots and tight ladder access on many streets, especially around Sapperton and the Brow of the Hill.
  • Older houses often have few outdoor plugs, so cord runs need planning before install day.
  • Queensborough has newer townhouses and homes, and many fall under strata rules.
  • Mild, wet winters make secure connections matter more than cold does.

We work in Queen's Park, Sapperton, Queensborough, Uptown, Downtown, Glenbrooke North, Victory Heights and the rest of New Westminster.

Questions people ask

Will wrapping lights hurt my tree?

Not for a season. The strands sit loosely and come off in January. Leaving lights wrapped on a growing limb all year is what causes damage.

How high can you light a tree?

It depends on the tree, where a ladder can stand safely and what is under it. On steep New Westminster lots that can vary a lot. Send a photo and we will say what is possible.

Should a tree be wrapped or draped?

Bare trunks and limbs look best wrapped closely. Evergreens and cedars look better with strands draped through the branches from the top down.

Do the lights need their own power?

They need an outdoor plug within reach of an outdoor-rated cord. Many older New Westminster houses have few plugs. If the yard is a long way from one, we will explain how the cords would run before you book.

Can you light just the yard and not the house?

Yes. Plenty of people only want a front tree or a hedge done.

Can you use the lights I already have?

Yes, if they are outdoor-rated and still work. If strands are dead or you don't have enough, we can supply lights.

Can I book removal in January without the install?

Yes. Removal can be booked alone, even on lights someone else hung. Install and repair work the same way.

Do you light shrubs and trees at a strata or townhouse?

Yes. We also work with stratas, low-rise condos and storefronts. Check your strata rules first, since many Queensborough townhouses have them.
