What Maple Ridge weather does to Christmas lights
Maple Ridge gets more rain than the western suburbs and colder winters. Outflow wind comes down the Fraser Valley and off the Golden Ears and the Pitt River valley. It brings hard frost and snow, and it tests every clip on the roofline.
That is why we use clips only. They hold against the wind and come off clean, with no nails or staples left in the wood. The upper streets near Silver Valley see more snow than the town centre, and the lots are steep. Homes near Golden Ears and the forested north side stay damp and shaded, so outdoor-rated lights matter there.
Early fall is the best time to install. The roof is dry enough to work on, and the lights are up before the first hard frost. If a roof is slick or the wind is up, we move the roof work to a safer day.
Homes and yards we light in Maple Ridge
Around Haney and Hammond you will find older homes and early industrial-era houses. Cottonwood and Albion have a lot of 1980s to 2000s subdivisions. Silver Valley has newer hillside homes and townhouses. East toward Whonnock and Thornhill, the lots turn into rural acreages.
Large lots with big cedars and firs are common here, and many people want the trees lit. The catch is the long distance between plugs and trees. We plan the cord runs before we start, so the lights reach without a mess across the lawn.
We also do tree and shrub lighting on its own. If you manage a townhouse complex near Albion or the town centre, check your exterior rules first. We also work with stratas, low-rise condos and storefronts.
Hired one job at a time, with your lights or ours
You don't join a program or sign up for a yearly plan. Book the job you need and that is all you get.
Many Maple Ridge homeowners have bins of lights in the garage. If your strands are outdoor-rated and still work, we hang them. If not, we can supply lights. Install, repair and removal can each be booked alone, even on lights someone else hung.
Price depends on a few things we explain up front. These are the length and height of the roofline, how many trees and shrubs you want lit, how far the plugs are from the work, and whether we supply the lights. Steep lots and snow can change the job too, so we tell you what we see before we start.
