What Burnaby roofs and lots ask of an install
Burnaby is hilly, and the houses reflect it. On steep lots in Capitol Hill and Burnaby Heights, the front gutter can sit well above the driveway. That is the part of the job most people are tired of doing from a ladder.
Post-war bungalows and split-levels often have several roof heights to tie together. Each height changes how the lights run and how long the job takes. We look at that before we talk price.
Around Deer Lake and Burnaby Mountain, tall firs and cedars keep roofs damp and mossy. Wet moss is slippery. If a roof is slick or the wind is up, we move the roof work to another day rather than push through it.
Everything is attached with clips. We don't use nails or staples on your gutters, shingles or trim.
Book only the job you need
You don't join anything with us. Hire us for the one job in front of you.
- Install. We hang your lights if they are outdoor-rated and still work. If they aren't, or you don't have any, we supply them.
- Repair. Half a string out, or a section that tripped? We can fix lights that someone else hung.
- Removal. We take them down in January, and we can do that for lights we didn't put up.
If you have bins of lights in the garage, bring them up when you call. We will tell you what looks usable.
The price depends on things you can see from the street. That means how many roof heights there are, how high the gutter sits above the ground, and whether we are using your lights or ours. We explain those points when we quote, so the number makes sense.
Townhouses, towers and storefronts
Much of central Burnaby is townhouse complexes, with tower clusters around Metrotown, Brentwood and Lougheed. We also work with stratas, low-rise condos and storefronts, not only single homes.
Many complexes around Brentwood and Metrotown set rules on what can go on the exterior. Check with your strata council or property manager first, then tell us what they allow. We can work to those limits.
For a strata or business, the same one-job approach applies. You can book an install, a repair on lights already up, or a January removal without signing up for a yearly plan.
For a townhouse owner, the question is usually which parts of the front are yours to decorate. Sort that out first, and the rest of the job is simple.
