We install Christmas lights in North Vancouver as a single booked job. We hang your own outdoor-rated lights if they work, or supply lights if they don't. We use clips only, keep connections dry, move roof work when it is slick or windy, and take everything down in January. Repair and removal can be booked alone.

  • Book install, repair or removal on its own, with no program or yearly plan.
  • We hang your own outdoor-rated lights if they work, or supply them.
  • Clips only, so no nails or staples go into your fascia or gutters.
  • Roof work moves when it is slick or windy.
  • Removal happens in January.

What North Vancouver homes ask of Christmas lights

North Vancouver is one of the wettest parts of the region, and rain gets heavier toward the mountains. Lights here sit in wet conditions for weeks. That is hard on plugs and connections, so how they are run matters as much as how they look.

Many houses in Lynn Valley, Deep Cove and Edgemont sit under tall cedar and fir. Branches and needles land on rooflines, and the shade keeps roofs and decks damp all year. Much of the district is 1950s to 1970s post-and-beam houses, split-levels and newer rebuilds on larger, often sloped lots. Steep lots mean high gutters and few safe places to set a ladder.

Upper streets can get snow and frost when the waterfront stays clear. Near Lonsdale, the housing shifts to condos and older walk-ups, where the job is usually a balcony, an entrance or a shared building edge.

How we hang lights on the North Shore

We hang your own lights if they are outdoor-rated and still work. If they are tired or you never had enough, we supply lights. Either way, you skip the ladder and the bins in the garage.

We use clips only. No nails and no staples go into your gutters, fascia or trim, which matters on older cedar and post-and-beam houses.

Because of the rain, we keep connections dry and off the ground. We also like lights up early. Heavy rain and wind are the rule by November, and the upper streets may see snow.

When a roof is slick or the wind is up, we move the roof work to another day. A steep lot with a wet roofline is not a place to push a schedule. We would rather come back when it is safe.

Book one job, not a program

You can hire us for one thing and stop there. Install, repair and removal can each be booked alone. That includes repair or removal of lights someone else hung, so a string that went dark in December can be fixed without starting over.

Removal is in January. We take the lights down, so you are not up there in the cold with the same ladder.

Price depends on the size of the job, how high and hard to reach the roofline is, and whether you are supplying lights. We explain that when we quote, so you know what is driving the number.

We also work with stratas, low-rise condos and storefronts, which suits the buildings around Lower Lonsdale. We also hang lights on trees and shrubs, which fits the tall conifers common across the district.

Around North Vancouver

  • Lynn Valley, Deep Cove and Edgemont homes sit under tall conifers that drop branches and needles on rooflines.
  • The North Shore gets more rain than the rest of the region, so connections take a beating and need to stay dry.
  • Upper streets such as those in Upper Lonsdale and Blueridge can get snow when the waterfront doesn't.
  • Steep lots mean high gutters and limited ladder positions, which is common on sloped lots in Canyon Heights and Westlynn.
  • Lower Lonsdale is mostly condos and older walk-ups, so many jobs there are balconies, entrances and shared edges.

We work in Lower Lonsdale, Upper Lonsdale, Lynn Valley, Edgemont, Deep Cove, Capilano, Blueridge and the rest of North Vancouver.

Questions people ask

Can you hang the lights I already have?

Yes, if they are outdoor-rated and they work. We check them before hanging. If they are worn out or not rated for outdoors, we can supply lights instead.

Do I have to sign up for a yearly plan?

No. You hire us one job at a time. Install, repair and removal can each be booked alone, and there is no program to join.

Will the clips damage my gutters or fascia?

We use clips only. We do not use nails or staples, so nothing is driven into your gutters, trim or fascia.

What if it is raining or windy on install day?

Light rain is normal here, but we move roof work when the roof is slick or the wind is up. We will reschedule that part rather than work on a wet or windy roofline.

Can you repair or remove lights someone else installed?

Yes. Repair and removal can be booked alone, even on lights another installer or you hung. You do not need to have used us for the install.

When do the lights come down?

Removal is done in January. You can book it with the install or as a separate job.

What does the price depend on?

It depends on the size of the job, how high and hard to reach the roofline is, and whether you supply the lights or we do. We explain this when we quote.

Do you work on condos, stratas and storefronts in North Vancouver?

Yes. We do stratas, low-rise condos and storefronts as well as houses. We can also light trees and shrubs.
