What North Vancouver properties need from a light installer
Around Lonsdale, most of what we see is condos and older walk-ups. Those jobs tend to be entrances, railings, rooflines, signs and a few street-level trees. Further up the slopes, complexes and small plazas sit under tall cedar and fir, and the ground is often steep.
That creates a few common problems.
- Entrance trees and common areas with no safe way to reach them
- High gutters and limited spots to set a ladder on sloped lots
- Residents and customers who can't have ladders in the way during busy hours
- Last year's lights half out, with no record of who hung them
If your council wants one tidy look across the complex, we plan it as a single job. If you manage a storefront that needs to look festive before shopping season, we book the work around opening hours and keep walkways and entrances clear while we are on site.
Rain, snow and shade on the North Shore
North Vancouver is one of the wettest parts of Metro Vancouver, and rain increases toward the mountains. By November, heavy rain and wind are the rule. Upper streets can see snow and frost when the waterfront does not.
That is why we like lights up early. We keep connections dry and off the ground, because the North Shore is hard on them. Heavy tree cover also keeps many roofs and decks in shade all year, so surfaces stay damp.
When a roof is slick or the wind is up, we move the roof work to another day. We would rather come back than put someone on a wet roofline. Everything is attached with clips, so nothing is nailed or stapled into siding, trim or common property.
If your lights are already up and half out, we can repair them without taking over the whole display.
How booking and pricing work
Plan early in the fall. Larger displays need a walk-through, approval from the council or manager, and a date set before the calendar fills. Bigger complexes are often planned over more than one visit.
To get started, send us:
- The address
- Photos of the areas to be lit
- Where the power is
- The dates you have in mind
If your own outdoor-rated lights work, we will hang them. If not, we can supply lights.
Price depends on the length of lights, the height, how many trees and features are included, the power available, and the install and removal dates you need. We explain which of those is driving your number.
Install and removal can be booked together, with the January date set up front, so nobody has to chase it later. You can also book only one of them.
