We install tree and shrub Christmas lights in Delta, including Ladner, Tsawwassen and North Delta. We wrap trunks and limbs, net hedges and drape strands through cedars, all on outdoor-rated cords running to a timer. We use your lights if they work or supply them. Price depends on the size and number of trees, how they are lit, distance to a plug and whose lights are used.

  • Trees, cedars, hedges and shrubs lit on outdoor-rated cords to a timer.
  • Clips only. No nails or staples, and everything comes off in January.
  • Your own working outdoor-rated lights, or we supply them.
  • Book just the yard, with no program or yearly plan to join.
  • Wind in Tsawwassen and Ladner shapes how we clip and run cords.

What Delta yards ask of tree and shrub lighting

Delta is not one kind of yard. Tsawwassen is one of the windiest parts of the region, and Ladner is open to wind off the water too. Winter wind loosens strands that were clipped poorly, so we take extra care with clips and cord runs in both places.

Near Boundary Bay, Beach Grove and English Bluff, the air carries salt. Flat yards in Ladner and Tsawwassen hold water, so we keep connections up off the ground.

North Delta is different. Many of the 1960s to 1980s split-levels and basement-entry homes sit on hillside lots with tall trees. Those trees bring shade and moss, and a front tree is often too big to reach from a ladder. That is the tree most people ask us about.

How we light trees, cedars and hedges

Bare trunks and limbs look best wrapped closely. Evergreens and cedars look better with strands draped through the branches from the top down. Hedges get nets so they do not look patchy when lit. Everything runs on outdoor-rated cords to a timer.

We use clips only. No nails or staples go into your trees or fences. The strands sit loosely for the season and come off in January, so nothing stays wrapped around a growing limb.

If you have bins of lights in the garage, we will hang them when they are outdoor-rated and working. If not, we supply lights. A dead strand buried in the middle of a tree is a common reason people call, and repair can be booked on its own, even on lights someone else hung.

Most yards take an hour or two on top of the house lights. Large trees take longer. You can also book only the yard and skip the house.

What the price depends on and how booking works

We do not name a number before we know the yard. The price depends on:

  • the size and number of trees and shrubs
  • how they are lit, whether wrapped, draped or netted
  • how far they are from an outdoor plug
  • whether you use your own lights or want them supplied

Cord distance matters most on bigger lots. Farm properties in East Ladner can have long distances between plugs and what is being lit, so we tell you how the cords would run before you book.

Send a photo of the tree and we will say how high we can go. That depends on where a ladder can stand safely and what is under it. If roof work is part of the job and it is slick or windy, we move that part.

Each job is hired on its own. There is no program or yearly plan to join. Install, repair and removal can each be booked alone.

Around Delta

  • Tsawwassen is one of the windiest parts of the region, so clips and cord runs get extra care.
  • Ladner has many ranchers and low two-storey homes with long, easy rooflines, and front yards to match.
  • North Delta's slopes and tall trees bring more shade and moss to hillside lots.
  • East Ladner farm properties can have long distances between plugs and what is being lit.
  • Boundary Bay, Beach Grove and English Bluff homes deal with salt air, and flat yards hold water.

We work in Ladner, Tsawwassen, North Delta, Sunshine Hills, Beach Grove, Boundary Bay, Annieville and the rest of Delta.

Questions people ask

Will wrapping lights hurt my tree?

Not for a season. The strands sit loosely and come off in January. Leaving lights wrapped on a growing limb all year is what causes damage.

How high can you light a tree?

It depends on the tree, where a ladder can stand safely and what is under it. Send a photo and we will say what is possible.

Should a tree be wrapped or draped?

Bare trunks and limbs look best wrapped closely. Evergreens and cedars look better with strands draped through the branches from the top down.

Do the lights need their own power?

They need an outdoor plug within reach of an outdoor-rated cord. If your yard is a long way from a plug, we will tell you how the cords would run before you book.

Can you light just the yard and not the house?

Yes. Plenty of people only want a front tree or a hedge done.

Can you use the lights I already have?

Yes, if they are outdoor-rated and working. If they are not, we can supply lights instead. The price depends partly on which you choose.

Will wind in Tsawwassen or Ladner pull the lights down?

Winter wind off the water loosens poorly clipped strands, so we use clips only and take extra care with clips and cord runs. If roof work is planned and it is windy or slick, we move that part.

Do I have to sign up for a yearly plan?

No. You hire us one job at a time. Install, repair and removal can each be booked alone, including repair or removal of lights someone else hung.
