Christmas light repair in Delta means tracing why your lights went out and fixing it. That covers half-dead strands, outdoor plugs that trip in the rain, failed timers, wet connections and wind damage. We repair lights someone else hung, re-clip what came loose and replace strands that are finished. Many repairs take under an hour. You book the repair alone, with no yearly plan.

  • Book a repair on its own, even on lights someone else hung.
  • A plug that trips in the rain means water is in a connection. Leave it off and call.
  • Sealed LED strands with a dead section are often cheaper to replace than repair.
  • Clips only. We never use nails or staples.
  • Roof work moves to another day when it is slick or windy.

Why Christmas lights fail in Delta

Delta is not one climate. Tsawwassen is one of the windiest parts of the region, and Ladner is open to wind off the water too. Winter wind loosens poorly clipped strands and drags cords out of place. That is the most common reason a roofline section goes dark.

Ladner and Tsawwassen also have flat yards that hold water. A plug or join lying on soggy ground is a classic cause of a tripping outdoor outlet. Near Boundary Bay, Beach Grove and English Bluff, salt air adds corrosion at the plugs where strands join.

Up in North Delta, the hillside lots and tall trees bring more shade and moss. Lights on shaded roofs and in trees stay damp longer, and the connections feel it.

How we find and fix the fault

We start by working out where the problem is. A whole-house fault can take longer to find. Many single repairs take under an hour.

Here is what we usually do:

  • Trace a tripping plug section by section until we find the wet or unsealed connection.
  • Check older strands for a bad bulb or fuse.
  • Test timers that stopped switching the lights on.
  • Re-hang anything wind or a falling branch pulled down, using clips only, no nails or staples.
  • Lift connections off the ground so flat, soggy yards do not put them back in water.

On sealed LED strands, a dead section often cannot be repaired. We will tell you when replacing the strand is the better buy. If a few spots are out on a strand in good shape, we repair it. If the wire is cracked or there are several faults, replacing costs less over time.

If the roof is slick or windy, we move that part of the job rather than work in poor conditions.

Book one repair, with no plan to join

You hire us for this job and that is the end of it. There is no program and no yearly plan. If you have bins of lights in the garage and you are done with the ladder, repair is a good place to start. You can book install, repair and removal each on their own, including on lights another crew hung. Tell us who put them up if you know, and send a photo of the part that is out.

The price depends on how long the fault takes to find, how high and complicated the roof access is, and whether any strands need replacing. We explain that before we start. Outdoor-rated lights that work, we reuse. If they do not, we can supply replacements.

We also repair lights at stratas, low-rise condos and storefronts. Removal is done in January, and you can book it alone as well.

Around Delta

  • Tsawwassen is one of the windiest parts of the region, so clips and cord runs get extra care.
  • Ladner has many ranchers and low two-storey homes with long, easy rooflines, where one dark section can hide a loose clip.
  • North Delta's slopes and tall trees bring shade and moss, which keep connections damp longer.
  • Farm properties in East Ladner can have long distances between plugs and what is being lit, so cord runs are a common fault point.

We work in Ladner, Tsawwassen, North Delta, Sunshine Hills, Beach Grove, Boundary Bay, Annieville and the rest of Delta.

Questions people ask

Why does my outdoor plug trip when it rains?

Water is getting into a connection somewhere on the run, and the plug is cutting the power as it should. Often a plug is lying in a puddle or a join is unsealed. We trace it section by section. Flat, soggy yards in Ladner and Tsawwassen make this common.

Half my strand is out. Can it be fixed?

On older strands, a bulb or fuse is often the cause, and that is a quick fix. On sealed LED strands, the dead section may not be repairable, and replacing the strand is the better buy. We will tell you which one you have.

Can you repair lights that someone else installed?

Yes. Repair can be booked on its own, even on lights another company hung. Tell us who put them up if you know, and send a photo of the part that is out.

Is it safe to keep resetting a tripping plug?

No. Leave the plug off, do not keep resetting it, and call us. A plug that keeps tripping is telling you something is wet or damaged.

Should I repair my old lights or replace them?

If a few spots are out on a strand in good shape, repair it. If the wire is cracked or the strand has several faults, replacing costs less over time. We give you a straight answer once we have looked.

How long does a Christmas light repair take?

Many repairs take under an hour. Finding a fault across a whole house can take longer. Slick or windy roofs can push the roof portion to another day.

Will you use nails or staples when you re-hang lights?

No. We use clips only. That protects your roofline and trim, and it makes removal in January simple.

Do I have to sign up for a yearly plan?

No. You hire us for one job at a time. Repair, install and removal can each be booked alone.
