We call back during business hours. Your number is only used for this job.

We install tree and shrub Christmas lights in Maple Ridge, from front-yard cedars and firs to hedges and small shrubs. We wrap trunks, drape evergreens, net hedges and run outdoor-rated cords to a timer. We use your lights if they work or supply them. Book it as a single job, with removal in January. Price depends on the size and number of trees, how they are lit, plug distance and whose lights are used.

  • We light front-yard trees, cedars, hedges and shrubs, with or without the house.
  • Clips only, no nails or staples, and the lights come off in January.
  • Your own outdoor-rated lights are fine if they work. We can supply them if not.
  • Maple Ridge is colder and snowier, so early fall installs go best.
  • Book install, repair or removal on its own, with no yearly plan.

What Maple Ridge yards usually need

Many Maple Ridge lots are big, and the trees on them are bigger. Cedars and firs are common, and most owners want them lit. In Cottonwood and Albion, the 1980s to 2000s subdivisions often have a front tree or a hedge that makes the house look dark by comparison. Out toward Whonnock and Thornhill, acreages can put the trees a long way from the nearest outdoor plug.

We match the method to the tree.

  • Bare trunks and limbs look best wrapped closely.
  • Evergreens and cedars look better with strands draped through the branches from the top down.
  • Hedges get nets so they do not look patchy when lit.

Everything runs on outdoor-rated cords to a timer. If the yard is far from a plug, we tell you how the cords would run before you book. We also try to keep cords off the lawn and walkway.

Cold, snow and wind on the upper streets

Maple Ridge gets more rain than the western suburbs and colder winters. Outflow wind comes down the Fraser Valley and off the Golden Ears and Pitt River valley, with hard frost and snow. That wind tests every clip on a tree or roofline. We use clips only, never nails or staples, so nothing is driven into bark or trim.

Upper streets near Silver Valley see more snow than the town centre, and the lots are steep. A ladder that is fine on flat Haney ground may not be safe on a slope. When a site is slick or windy, we move the work to a better day rather than push through it.

This is one of the colder, snowier parts of the region, so early fall installs go best. Homes near the forested north side stay damp and shaded, which is another reason to get the lights up before the weather turns. Removal happens in January.

Booking one job and what the price depends on

You hire us for one job at a time. There is no program or yearly plan to join. If you have bins of lights in the garage, we will hang them as long as they are outdoor-rated and working. If not, we supply lights. Install, repair and removal can each be booked alone, even on lights someone else hung. That helps with a dead strand buried in the middle of a tree.

Most yards take an hour or two on top of the house lights. Large trees take longer. The price depends on the size and number of trees and shrubs, how they are lit, how far they are from an outdoor plug, and whether you use your own lights or want them supplied.

Townhouse complexes near Albion and the town centre often have exterior rules. Check yours first, and tell us if your strata needs anything specific. We also work with stratas, low-rise condos and storefronts.

Around Maple Ridge

  • Silver Valley's upper streets get more snow than town and have steep lots, which affects where a ladder can stand.
  • Cold outflow wind off the Golden Ears and Pitt River valley is hard on clips, so we use clips only.
  • Large lots in Cottonwood, Albion and out toward Whonnock and Thornhill often have big cedars and firs people want lit.
  • Townhouse complexes near Albion and the town centre have exterior rules, so check with your strata before booking.

We work in Haney, Albion, Silver Valley, Cottonwood, Hammond, Whonnock, Thornhill and the rest of Maple Ridge.

Questions people ask

Will wrapping lights hurt my tree?

Not for a season. The strands sit loosely and come off in January. Leaving lights wrapped on a growing limb all year is what causes damage, so we remove them after the holidays.

How tall a tree can you light in Maple Ridge?

It depends on the tree, where a ladder can stand safely and what is under it. Steep lots and snow make that matter more on the upper streets. Send a photo and we will tell you what is possible.

Should my cedar be wrapped or draped?

Evergreens and cedars look better with strands draped through the branches from the top down. Bare trunks and limbs look best wrapped closely. Hedges usually get nets.

Do the lights need their own power?

They need an outdoor plug within reach of an outdoor-rated cord. On larger Maple Ridge lots the trees can be far from a plug. If so, we will explain how the cords would run before you book.

Can you light just the trees and hedges, not the house?

Yes. Plenty of people only want a front tree or a hedge done. You can also add the house later as a separate job.

Can you use the lights I already have?

Yes, if they are outdoor-rated and working. If they are not, we can supply lights. Either way, the price depends on the size and number of trees, how they are lit, plug distance and whose lights are used.

When should I book in Maple Ridge?

Early fall installs go best here. Maple Ridge is colder and snowier than most of the region, and outflow wind is common in winter. We also move work when it is slick or windy.

Do you take the lights down afterward?

Yes. Removal is in January, and you can book it on its own. That includes lights someone else hung.
